 With the August Bank Holiday just around the corner, many of us will be travelling across the UK—whether it’s a city break, a family visit or simply making the most of a long weekend. For Muslim women, finding prayer facilities while on the move can sometimes be a challenge, especially near busy train stations.


That’s why we’ve put together this guide to mosques and prayer rooms close to major mainline train stations across the UK. From London to Scotland, the Midlands to Wales, here’s where you can find female-friendly spaces to pray during your journeys.

London

 London St Pancras International Station / King’s Cross Station – King’s Cross Mosque and Islamic Cultural Centre (5 min walk)
The King’s Cross Mosque and Islamic Cultural Centre is only a 5 minute walk from both London St Pancras International Station and King’s Cross Station.


London Euston Station – Shahjalal Jame Masjid (Euston Mosque) (3 min walk)
Shahjalal Jame Masjid, also known as Euston Mosque, is just a 3 minute walk from London Euston Station.


London Paddington Station – Masjid Salahuddin (6 min walk)
Masjid Salahuddin is located around a 6 minute walk from London Paddington Station. The sisters facilites are located on the lower ground floor.


London Waterloo Station – Royal Festival Hall Multi-faith Prayer Room (3 minute walk)
Near  London Waterloo Station, the multi-faith prayer room in the Royal Festival Hall is only 3 minute walk. Located on Level 2 of the Green Side Foyers. The door code can be obtained from the Welcome Desk.


London Victoria Station – WBWT Community and Prayer Centre (7 min walk)
The WBWT Community and Prayer Centre is just a 7 minute walk from London Victoria Station.


London Liverpool Street Station – Brick Lane Jamme Masjid (10 min walk)
Brick Lane Jamme Masjid is located around a 10 minute walk from London Liverpool Street Station.


London Bridge Station – Guy’s Hospital Multi-faith Prayer Room (2 min walk)
From London Bridge Station, the multi-faith prayer room inside Guy’s Hospital is only a 2 minute walk. It is located on the ground floor, and can be found by turning left after entering through the hospital’s main entrance.



North of England

 Manchester Piccadilly Station and Manchester Victoria Station – Shair-e-Rabbani Islamic Centre and Mosque (7–15 min walk)
The Shair-e-Rabbani Islamic Centre and Mosque is a 7 and 15 minute walk from Manchester Piccadilly Station and Manchester Victoria Station respectively. Women’s facilities are available on the second floor, but are open only Monday to Friday between 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm.


Leeds Station – Trinity Leeds Shopping Centre Quiet Room (3 min walk)
The Trinity Leeds Shopping Centre Quiet Room is just a 3 minute walk from Leeds Station.

 

Liverpool Lime Street Station – Liverpool Museum Prayer Room (20 min walk)
Liverpool Lime Street Station is served by the Liverpool Museum Prayer Room, located on the first floor of the museum. It is about a 20 minute walk from the station.


Newcastle Station – Newcastle City Mosque (4 min walk)
The NEW Newcastle City Mosque is only a 4 minute walk from Newcastle Station.


Sheffield Station – Andalus Community Centre (16 min walk)
From Sheffield Station, the Andalus Community Centre is a 16 minute walk. It operates as both a mosque and a community advice bureau.




Midlands

Birmingham New Street Station – Birmingham New Street Prayer Room (on-site)
Birmingham New Street Station has its own dedicated prayer room on the ground floor, beside the Nero Café in Station East. The space includes wudhu facilities for women and men and offers prayer hijabs and skirts for use.


Nottingham Station – Roosters Piri Piri Basement Prayer Hall (12 min walk)
The Roosters Piri Piri restaurant in Nottingham houses a prayer hall in its basement, is just a 12 minute walk from Nottingham Station. The prayer room includes wudhu and sisters’ facilities. It is open for everyone, not just customers.


Leicester Station – Islamic Centre Leicester (Leicester Central Mosque) (5 min walk)
The Islamic Centre Leicester, also known as Leicester Central Mosque on Conduit Street, is a 5 minute walk from Leicester Station.


Derby Station – Derby Islamic Centre (20 min walk / 7 min drive)
The Derby Islamic Centre is located around a 20 minute walk from Derby Station. It can also be reached in 7 minutes by car or about 14 minutes via public transport.


Wolverhampton Station – Wolverhampton Station Prayer Room (on-site)
Wolverhampton Station has its own prayer room available for passengers. Travellers can ask a staff member for access.




South of England

Oxford Station – Westgate Oxford Prayer Room (10 min walk)

 From Oxford Station, the Westgate Oxford Prayer Room is about a 10 minute walk. It is located on the second floor of John Lewis inside the Westgate Shopping Centre.



Brighton Station – Brighton Mosque and Muslim Community Centre (15 min walk)

 The Brighton Mosque and Muslim Community Centre is a 15 minute walk from Brighton Station.



Southampton Central Station – Southampton Medina Mosque (19 min walk)

 Southampton Medina Mosque is a 19 minute walk from Southampton Central Station.



Bournemouth Station – Bournemouth Islamic Centre and Central Mosque (20 min walk)

 Bournemouth Islamic Centre and Central Mosque is around a 20 minute walk from Bournemouth Station.



East of England

Milton Keynes Central Station – Al-Rawdha Mosque (20 min walk)

 Al-Rawdha Mosque is a 20 minute walk from Milton Keynes Central Station.


Cambridge Station – Masjid Al-Ikhlas and Cambridge Islamic and Community Centre (8 min walk)

 From Cambridge Station, the Masjid Al-Ikhlas and Cambridge Islamic and Community Centre is only an 8 minute walk.


Norwich Station - Ihsan Mosque & Islamic Centre (20 min walk)

A former church, Ihsan Mosque & Islamic Centre is a 20 minute walk from Norwich Rail Station.





South West

Bristol Temple Meads Station – Bristol Jamia Mosque (15 min walk)

 The Bristol Jamia Mosque can be reached with a 15 minute walk from Bristol Temple Meads Station.



Exeter Central Station – Exeter Islamic Centre (10 min walk)

 From Exeter Central Station, the Exeter Islamic Centre on York Road is about a 10 minute walk.



Plymouth Station – Islamic Centre of Plymouth and Cornwall (3 min walk)

 The Islamic Centre of Plymouth and Cornwall is located just 3 minutes away from Plymouth Station on foot.



Bath Station – Bath Mosque (4 min walk)

 Bath Mosque, located on Pierrepont Street, is only a 4 minute walk from Bath Station.




Scotland



Glasgow Central Station – Glasgow Central Multi-faith Room (on-site)

 Glasgow Central Station has a multi-faith area located between Platforms 11 and 15. Passengers can ask station staff for access.



Edinburgh Waverley Station – Edinburgh Central Mosque (13 min walk)

 The Edinburgh Central Mosque is a 13 minute walk from Edinburgh Waverley Station.



Aberdeen Station – Aberdeen Mosque and Islamic Centre (15 min walk)

 Aberdeen Mosque and Islamic Centre can be reached in around 15 minutes from Aberdeen Station.



Inverness Station – Inverness Mosque and Islamic Community and Education Centre (10 min walk)

 From Inverness Station, the Inverness Mosque and Islamic Community and Education Centre is just a 10 minute walk. It is also known as the northernmost mosque in the UK.

Our final blog of this seven part series and we'd like to end it with the most powerful weapon of a believer, Dua along with reflections, and resources to empower individuals to stand in solidarity with Palestine and the Muslim Ummah worldwide. Through our collective supplications and efforts, we aim to spread awareness, advocate for justice, and offer spiritual support to those affected by oppression and hardship. Duas for Palestine Reliance on Allah (SWT) Hasbuna Allah wa ni'm al-wakeel Allah is sufficient for us and the best of those on whom to depend. Defeat the oppressors Allahuma munzil al-kitaab, saree' al-hisab, ihzim al-ahzaa, Allahuma ihzimhum wa zalzilhum O Allah, Revealer of the Book, Swift to account, defeat the combined forces. O Allah, defeat them and shake them. Be with the oppressed Allahumma ya Qawiyy al-akaan, ya' Adheem as-sultan, ya man qulta 'An nafsika kulla yawmin huwa fee sha'n Allahumma kun li'ikhwaninaa al-mustad'afeena fee filasteen wa ghazza wa kulli makaan. O Allah, the One with mighty Pillars, the One of Great Authority, the One who declares about Himself every day that he is engaged in a matter, O Allah, be with our brethren who are oppressed in Palestine, Gaza, and everywhere else. Bring relief Allahumma ij al limaa humfeehi farajan wa makhrajan. Allahumma innahu la hawla lahum wa la quwwata illa bika, anta ni'ma al-mawla wa ni'ma an-naseer. O Allah! Make an escape and a way out for them O Allah! There is no control or power except by You You are an excellent master and an excellent helper. Healing & mercy Allahumma dawee jarhahum, washfee mardahum, wa 'aafi mubtalahum, warham mawtahum, wa taqabbal shuhadaa'ahum O Allah! Cure their injured and heal their sick patients, and forgive their afflicted, and have mercy on their dead, and accept their martyrs. Rectify their affairs Allahuma aslih ahwaal al-muslimeen fee filasteena yaa thal jalaali wal-ikram O Allah! Rectify the affairs of the Muslims in Palestine. O Lord of Majesty and Bounty. Protect Al-Aqsa Allahuma a'id al-masjid al-aqsa ilaa rihaab il-muslimeen Oh Allah! Return Al-Aqsa mosque to the spaciousness of Muslims. Replace the fear Allahumma kun li-ahl ghazza 'awnan wa-nasseeran, wa baddil khawfahum aman O Allah, be a support and helper for the people of Gaza, and replace their fear with security. For the Ummah Allahumma aslih Ummat Muhammad, Allahumma farrij 'an Ummat Muhammad, Allahumma Irham Ummat Muhammad O Allah! Improve the state of the Ummah of Muhammad, O Allah! Grant ease to the Ummah of Muhammad, O Allah! Have mercy on the Ummah of Muhammad.
